Meet the Teacher

It is hard to believe but we are running out of summer time fun.  School starts on Monday.  Can't even fathom that the summer is almost over.  It really felt like time was running out on the summer of fun as we went to meet the teacher at Cardinal Charter Academy today.

First, we went in and met Mark's teacher.  His teacher this year is Ms. Thompson.  Mark was a little shy today but that is expected.  We think Mark will do well with Ms. Thompson.

Then we went in and met Jack's teacher.  His teacher this year is Ms. Khabiti.  She is a new teacher, but we think Jack will flourish.  Jack was a little shy as well.

Here are a couple pictures of the boys and her teachers:

New baseball season

On Saturday, the boys tried out at West Raleigh for the Minor League.  The boys had to catch and throw 5 grounders at second base, catch one fly ball, and hit 5 balls...while running to second base after the last hit.

Jack and Mark both did well at the tryout.  Jack was the only kid of the 15 five year olds who tried out that caught the fly ball.  Mark got his glove on it and almost caught it.  Each boy caught all of the ground balls.  Neither kid swung and missed on their 5 swings.

We were very proud of how well they did.  We found out yesterday that they were drafted by the Lookouts.  Jack and Mark are very excited to have made the minor league and specifically the Lookouts.

Practice starts on Monday evening.  Good luck to the boys as they will be learning a lot over the next few weeks.  It is a great instructional league.  The head coach played football at Dartmouth while one of the assistant coaches was the starting quarterback and ace pitcher for the Wolfpack.

The Remodeling Era

Over the past five weeks, we have been living with Granna and Grandpa as our house is being renovated.  The amount of dust in our house at the beginning of the renovation was too much for Mark, who is allergic to dust mites.  Therefore, we are living with Mommy's parents.

It has been a busy time for all of us.  Between the different camps that the boys are taking, the evening swimming or soccer lessons, and going down to the house at night for a variety of reasons, it has been a hectic few weeks.

We appreciate Granna and Grandpa opening their doors during our time of renovating the house.  Hopefully, it will be done before school starts.
