Lunch with another set of twins? Or was it a table of quads???

Sunday afternoon we had lunch one of one of Heather's friends and her family.  Heather and Jenn went to both high school and college, and even had several classes in college together.  She and her husband, Dan, had twins on December 1.  They had a boy/girl set, named Luke and Olivia, who are now 5 1/2 months old.  They were up in Raleigh for the weekend and we had lunch with them on Sunday.  We all had a good time.  After lunch, we made sure to get a picture of all 4 kids.

My Very First Mother's Day!!!

Well, first of all, so sorry this blog entry is a little late.

May 9, 2010, was my very first Mother's Day...and what a very special day it was.  A lot has changed in the past year. One year ago, May 8, 2009, was my last day of work before going out on modified bed rest.  And, then a year later, I am loving being a mom to these two wonderful blessings, Jack and Mark.  Being a mom is all that I had dreamed it would be and more (I didn't think that was possible)!  I am absolutely loving it!  Yes, it is a lot of work, but it is worth every bit of it!!  To watch Jack and Mark learn new things every day is so amazing.  And, to hold them as they fall asleep at night is just precious.  To watch them smile, kick their feet and wave their arms when I get home each day is priceless.  And, to watch them interact is so much fun.

We weren't able to go to church on Mother's Day, because the boys and I were getting over a bad cold and ear infections.  But, we still had an enjoyable day together as a family.  Craig, Jack and Mark gave me some really sweet cards and a heather plant (how thoughtful!).  And, Craig got me a beautiful bracelet as a combined Mother's Day and 6th anniversary gift.  Our 6th anniversary was May 8th - the day before Mother's Day.  We had plans to go out for our anniversary on Friday night and Granna and Grandpa were going to keep the boys, but since 3 of the 4 of us were not feeling well, we postponed our plans for a couple of weeks.

Here are some pictures from Mother's Day!

Crawling into the bathroom

This morning, the boys enjoyed crawling down the hall and then started exploring the bathroom.  This is just so cute.  Look at Mark as he inspects the bathtub:

The First Trip to a Park

The last couple of weeks we have been trying to get a time where we would take the boys to a park.  But several things had gotten in the way, like colds, spring football games, pictures, etc.  But last Saturday was a beautiful day and we had nothing planned.  It was Mommy and Daddy's 6th anniversary (Mommy had a cold but was being a trooper) and we decided that it was time to take the boys to a park.  So we called our friends Diane and Jason Willeford (not THAT Jason Williford) and wanted to see if they, along with their 18 month old son Scott, wanted to join us.  They regularly go to a park in Raleigh near her parents' house.  So, we met them at the Mobley's house and hung out with everyone for a little bit.  It was funny to see Scott's reaction when his Granddad (Diane's father) would hold one of the boys instead of Scott.  Scott was very nice to let the boys play with some of his toys.  Then the seven of us went over to the park off of Millbrook Road.  We had a really good time.  We put the boys in the infant swings and they absolutely LOVED it.  They were in the swings for about 40 minutes...until Mark fell asleep in the swing and Jack was barely awake.  Here are some pictures from the park, and a couple in the swing at the Mobley's.

What is this contraption that Mommy put me in?  I don't know but I like it.  - Jack

Mommy, will you please finish getting me strapped in so I can start swinging?  NOW!!!!!!!!!!!  - Mark

Now this is much better.  I love being on the swing!  - Mark

This is really fun.  I have one question.  Why did you stop me swinging just to take a picture?  Start pushing me now Daddy.  - Jack

I can go higher than you can.  - Mark
Watch out, I will be higher in a second.  - Jack

Scott, thanks for showing us such a cool park.  We will be back very soon.

Random pictures from the last month

Here are some pictures of the boys in the last four weeks:

Mommy and Jack enjoy some one on one time.  Mommy, where is that shiny thing that is attached to your earlobe?  It was on earlier in the day.

Mommy's boys all catch up on some zzzzzzzzzzzzz's.

We can sleep while Mommy and Daddy get ready to go to work.  Check us out.  We have overtaken their entire bed.

It's laundry time.  With this load, Daddy better put the washer on the delicate cycle.

Mommy with her boys, and some dirty laundry.  But it's OK.  We are still too cute, even in a laundry basket.

Ladies, who can turn me down with such a svelte looking sleeper.  You like the animal prints on it?  I sure do.  - Jack

Uh-oh.  I am about ready to sneeze on someone's clothes.  You dare me?   - Mark

Did Mommy put some of that tryptophan that is in turkey in my food?  Man, I can't stay awake at the dinner table.

It's football time in Tennessee!

Jack and Mark are ready for some football, well, if you look at their outfits they definitely are.  When we put these outfits on the boys, they look like the checkerboard end zone at Neyland Stadium.

Learning how to Crawl

The boys are learning how to crawl nowadays.  Here is a video of the boys.  Watch closely how Mark gets around.  It is a unique type of crawl.
