More Easter Egg Hunts

After we had dyed some eggs, Jack and Mark wanted to have a couple more Easter Egg hunts.  So we wound up having lots of them, both at our house and at Granna and Grandpa's house.  The boys enjoyed finding the eggs but almost seemed to enjoying hiding the eggs even more.  They really had a good time watching us try to find their eggs they hid.  It was so funny.

Look at all of the fun:

Dyeing Easter Eggs

After church and lunch, the boys had been wanting to dye Easter Eggs.  So we transformed the kitchen into an egg dyeing station.  The boys had fun as we dyed eggs and then let the boys put some stickers on them.

Here are a few pictures from the dyeing of the eggs:

Easter morning

Easter morning and Christ is risen!

We got up and had to go see what the Easter Bunny brought the boys.  He did not disappoint.  The boys received some books, pajamas, underwear, a bubble machine, and a stuffed animal, which was a really cool lion.

After that, we got ready to go to church.  At church, there was a cross that members can add flowers to.  The boys did a good job adding a few flowers to the cross.  We had a really good morning at church.

Here are some pictures of the family before and after church:

Easter Egg Hunt - NC State style

On the Saturday of Easter week, we all went to NC State vs. Florida State baseball game.  The Pack had lost two heart breakers the previous two nights, 3-2 and 1-0.  Finally, the team's bats woke up and the Pack beat up on the Seminoles 11-7.

After the game, they were having an Easter Egg hunt in the outfield.  The boys, who had missed their Easter Egg hunt at both church and the neighborhood due to the River Bandits schedule, were excited to finally take part of one.

Here are a couple of pictures from the Easter Egg hunt:

First off, we are happy that State won.  Now, it's Easter Egg hunt time!

Cleaning out the garage

On Saturday morning, the boys cleaned out the garage.  While we were cleaning up, getting rid of the dust and leaves, we also looked into all of the toys and sporting equipment the boys use and don't use.  They did a really good job helping out Daddy.  They picked out items to donate and what they wanted to keep.  They also did a good job sweeping.

They made the job of cleaning up/out the garage a lot of fun.

Here they are helping out:

Whew, a lot of stuff to go through.

Good workers everywhere!

First School Field Trip: North Carolina Zoo

On April 1 (yes April Fools Day), Jack and Mark took their first school field trip.  It was to the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro.  That morning we had to get to school around 6:45 and the boys left on charter buses at 7.  Even though they are in different classes, Jack's teacher asked Jack if he wanted to ride on Mark's bus.  Jack said yes and the boys sat on the set of seats with their buddy Sawyer.  Yes, all 3 of them sat on the same 2 seats.

As chaperones, Mommy and Daddy had to drive themselves to the zoo, as only students and teachers were allowed on the buses.  But then again, for the 120 students in Kindergarten, there were around 60 chaperones.

When we got to the zoo, Mommy and Daddy were in charge of the boys as well as Sawyer.  We were spending the whole day at the zoo.  The plan is to spend the morning on the Africa side, eat lunch with everyone, and then spend the afternoon in North America.

The three boys were so excited about going to the zoo.  They had been counting down the days to go to the zoo for at least 10 days.  Jack was really wanting to see lions.  The zoo had 6 lions (one male and 5 females).  The one thing that was a little disappointing for Jack (and the other boys) was that they were sleeping the whole time we were watching them.  We also saw some giraffes, bison, elephants, and baboons, just to name a few of the animals.

Then after lunch, we went to the North America side.  We saw some alligators, polar bears, black bears, just to name a few.  The boys were getting tired.  We had walked a lot over the day and while the three of them were getting tired, they did a good job with all of the walking.  They did not complain much at all about the amount of walking they did.

When we got back to the front entrance, Sawyer joined his classmates to ride home on the bus while we drove the boys back to home.

They were so tired.  By the time we got about 5-10 minutes outside of Asheboro, Jack, Mark, and Mommy were all sleeping well.  In fact, they all slept almost till we got back to Cary.

They had a great time and really enjoyed their zoo experience.

Here are some pictures from the field trip:

Do you see all of these animals, brother?

Everyone's favorite part.  The Polar bear started peeing and never quit.  He peed for about 2 straight minutes.  It was very impressive.  Each boy said that was their favorite part.

Jack loses his first tooth

On March 25, we had a first in our family.  After several weeks of a loose tooth that Jack loved to wiggle with his and his tongue, it fell out.

He was so happy that his tooth fell out.  And what was really sweet was how happy Mark was that Jack lost his tooth.  Love seeing that brotherly love.

First Baseball game

The next day, the River Bandits opened their season against the Rock Hounds.  Jack and Mark were so pumped up for their first game.  And they delivered.  In the first inning, with Jack playing pitcher, he got multiple batters out (everyone bats each inning).  Both Jack and Mark each got onto base each time (both scored two runs).

The River Bandits won handily 26-7.  It was a team win and they were very happy to have played well.

Here are a couple of pictures after the game:

West Raleigh Baseball Spring Season Opening Ceremony

On a cold and very windy Saturday, the boys were supposed to play their first baseball game of the season.  Unfortunately, due to the heavy rain over the past few days, the baseball game was postponed until the following day.

That being said, the opening ceremonies were still on for Saturday.  We got there, with us all wearing our uniforms.  All of the teams in all of the leagues get out onto the field around the infield and listen to a few words, the first pitch, and a relay race.

It is cool to see all of the kids getting ready to start a new season.

The boys look ready for the new year:

NC State Makes it to the Sweet 16!

Down goes Villanova!  The Wolfpack played the top seeded Villanova Wildcats in the Round of 32.  While not many talking heads gave the Wolfpack much of a chance, Daddy felt pretty good about it.  They were the only #1 seed that I wanted to have if State was in the 8/9 game.  Thankfully, we were not put into the region with #1 seed Kentucky.

The game was on at 7:10 on Saturday night.  The boys were super excited for it.

The Wolfpack played a great game and shocked the Wildcats 71-68.  The Pack is on the way to the Sweet 16!  Next up, Louisville!

Here the boys are after the win and showing the red ink where the Wolfpack won!

2 very happy boys!  State wins by 3!

The next morning, they had to wear their Wolfpack bow ties.

Aren't we so cool looking?  GO PACK!
