Conversations with Mark this week

A conversation from dinner one night this week:
Mark: Mommy and Daddy, I got put in time out today at school.
Mommy: Why, Mark? What did you do?
Mark: Well, I wanted to be the line leader and I wasn't. So, I pushed the boy that was the line leader.
Mommy: Well, that's not nice Mark. You shouldn't ever push someone.
Mark: But, Mommy, I not like this boy.
Mommy: Why do you not like him.
Mark: Well, his name is Jack and I only like one Jack, my brother Jack. I not like two Jacks!
(Mommy and Daddy just look at each other at a loss of words trying not to smile!!!)
Mommy: Oh, I think we can like more than one person named Jack!

And another conversation the same night:
Mark: Mommy and Daddy, today at school, i liked a girls shoes and told her that I liked them and she said, "thank you!" (followed by a sweet smile)
Not a bad pick up line for a 3 year old!

Mother's Day

What a wonderful Mother's Day it was!! I spent a lot of quality time with Craig and my two little guys! Every  Mother's Day, I reflect on how very blessed I am to be the Mommy to two special little boys. They mean so much to me and I am so honored that God blessed me in such an awesome way. I love them more and more with each passing day and I loved them more than words can say on December 2, 2008 when I first found out we were expecting!!! On Mother's Day, I also reflect on what a truly amazing Mom I have been blessed with. She is an amazing woman that has taught me so much about life and unconditional love. Her encouragement, love and support have meant so much to me throughout my life. I continue to look to her for her advice as I travel this journey through motherhood. Happy Mother's Day to my Mom, Grandmothers, Mother-in-law and Sister-in-law and all my other friends and family!

Sweet Mark!

Sweet Jack!

When they hug me and say, "Mommy, I love you SO much!", it means so much to me!

Kisses for Mommy!

Mother's Day gifts from Mark. He made the card on the left and the magnet at the bottom at Sunday School. He made the magnet on top with a picture of him and the card at the right at Children's House. Such special gifts I will treasure forever! He also gave me another store-bought card as well that is not pictured!

Bath Time Sports

Okay, so you all know how much Jack and Mark love sports. Well, even in the bath tub, it is all about sports at our house! They almost always play some kind of sport in the bath tub each night. Recently, they have started sticking numbers to their chests to be their jersey number. I thought this was just too cute not to get a picture for the records.

SAS Spring Festival

Last Friday night, we went to the annual SAS Spring Festival. We all had so much fun! We got to see so many friends and catch up with them, enjoy the night spring night outside and Jack and Mark totally LOVED the bounce houses, slides and other activities that they had for the kids. And, did I mention there was free food! We all had a fabulous time!!! And, I must commend Jack and Mark on their patience while waiting in lines. We waiting for 15-25 minutes in the line for every bounce house / slide / etc.! They did amazing waiting in those long lines for two 3 year olds! Here are a few pictures from the night. Sorry there aren't many. We were having so much fun that I actually forgot to take many pictures, can you believe that???

Jack, Daddy and Mark

Mark was so tired, he laid down in the grass for a quick rest before having more fun!

Jack stopped having fun just long enough for Mommy to snap a quick picture!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Last week was National Teacher Appreciation Week! So, on Friday, we took a special treat to each of the boys' teachers. This year's gift for each teacher was a bag of Harry & David snack mix and a silver bangle bracelet with a monogrammed disc as well as a card from Mommy and Daddy and a card from Jack or Mark. Pictures of the boys with their teachers (2 of Mark's teachers weren't there, so we weren't able to get their pictures!):

Mommy, Mark and Michelle (Mark was being a bit shy about having his picture made!)

Mark and Eunie

And this is a picture of the cards that the boys made for their teachers. They made the flowers out of their fingerprints and stamped the "Thank You" on the top! I thought they turned out cute! Mommy wrote on the inside and then they signed them!

Muffins with Mom

On Friday morning, Jack's class hosted Muffins for Mom at 8:30am. It was so much fun and such a special time. I am so honored to be the Mom of two fabulous boys! We enjoyed yummy lemon poppy seed muffins, blueberry muffins, strawberries and grapes with apple juice to drink. The muffins were the little mini muffins. Jack ate 5 muffins while Mommy had two. Jack thought it was really funny that he ate so many more than Mommy! It was cute!

"Yum, this muffin is good, Mommy. I might have to go back for more!" -Jack

Me and my Jack-a-roo!

Mark's class doesn't do anything special for Mother's Day and Father's Day. Instead, they do an ice cream social that is a joint Parents celebration. We haven't heard the exact date yet, but it will be in early June. We will have a blog post on that when it happens. So, since Mommy and Jack were having a special breakfast, Daddy and Mark decided to have a special breakfast too. Daddy took Mark to Panera for a yummy breakfast before school.

As Mark and Daddy were pulling in the parking lot at preschool, Jack and Mommy were in the parking lot too! After our breakfast, Jack and Mommy had gone back to the car to get the Teacher Appreciation gifts. Jack and Mark were glad to see each other and glad to get to walk into preschool together just like usual!

I mean, is this precious or what? Sometimes, I ask them to hold hands for a picture, but not this time. They did this completely on their own! I. LOVE. IT.!!!!

Still walking hand in hand inside!

Happy 60th Birthday Granna!

Granna had a milestone birthday this year. She turned 60 years old on May 1st! We have yet to officially celebrate it because we have yet to all be in town on the same day since her birthday. We will celebrate it as soon as we can. We are all very thankful for everything that Granna does for all of us. She is a wonderful woman with a very loving heart! Here is a picture of Granna with her favorite grandsons and the flowers that they gave her for her birthday!

Happy Birthday Granna! We love you, Jack and Mark
